Overview
Providing good supervision to helpline workers is one of the most important parts of a manager’s role. Good supervision makes a tremendous difference to service quality, worker motivation and performance. This course looks at different aspects of supervision and at developing a repertoire of skills to help bring the best out of people.
The Course will cover
- Establishing the purposes of and skills in providing good supervision, recognising what makes it helpful and what makes it a waste of time.
- Appreciating the difference between supervision and appraisal.
- Exploring and understanding the differences between personal supervision and management supervision.
- Analysing individual positive supervision practice and develop additional approaches to use in your setting.
- Recognising your own supervision needs and how they could / should be met.
- Enjoying the chance to escape the usual work environment and take the opportunity to network and meet new people.
