Overview

This course looks at how burnout can take hold, how to recognise the signs and develop strategies to stop it in its tracks.

The Course will cover

  • Establishing the purposes of and skills in providing good supervision, recognising what makes it helpful and what makes it a waste of time.
  • Defining burn out and be able to recognise the signs and symptoms in oneself and in others.
  • Understanding and apply reflective practice to keep fresh and focused, even on repetitive work and to avoid complacency.
  • Being aware of the effects of vicarious trauma
  • Creating a Goody Bag (toolkit) to help protect against burn out and emotional fatigue.
  • Taking this opportunity to recharge in a new environment, creating new ideas with different people.
